If your like me and use document templates over and over again, this could be an invaluable piece of information.
You may have noticed that in your ‘home’ folder there is a folder called ‘Templates’ which is empty (At the minute)
This Folder allows you to add items to your right click “Create New Document” list.
If you don’t use your Templates folder your right click menu should looks something along the lines of this.
As you can see there is nothing there at the minute except for a “Empty Document”. What good is that?
All you have to do is drag a document that you wish to use as a template into your /home/templates folder and you will have the item appear in the above menu.
For example’s sake I added a LibreOffice Project Proposal Document into the templates folder. Now when I right click I get a new entry with the document I added to the ‘Templates Folder’
I hope some of you find this tip handy, It was mentioned in the #Ubuntu-UK Channel on Freenode that not many people know how to use this feature of Ubuntu. Which is something that I use daily.
