Are you a “Hacker”…? If so check out Nottinghack…..

Posted on 07/07/201108/03/2023 by Phil

What is a hacker…

Contra to popular belief the word “Hacker” does not implicitly mean someone who sits there trying to gain access to a computer system.

A “Hacker” is someone that spends vast amounts of time devoted to one particular task or project, this task or project could be gaining access to a computer system or just someone who sits there nitting for hours on end.

So are you a hacker…

Are you the type of person that will sit there and concentrate on one task or project for hours or try and make something new and hack away at it untill its completed.

well i would like to tell you about Hacker Space:- (Extract from the “Nottinghack” website)

Nottingham Hackspace is a workshop and coworking space for the East Midlands, located close to the centre of Nottingham. It’s a place for makers and creatives to meet, learn, swap skills, and work on projects.

The hackspace is run on a non-profit basis to serve your creative interests as a member. Whether those are craft, electronics, woodwork, metalwork, knitting, programming, bike maintenance, prototyping, gadget modification, or even robotics, we have the kind of tools you don’t generally have room for at home, and the hackspace is constantly growing.

We hold open nights every Wednesday from 18:30. See our recent and upcoming events on the blog, and find out how to become a member here.

So if you have projects and no real place to get them done go along, you will find like minded people, who will be able to help and give you pointers for your own projects.
