Creating a DNS Fail over network (dnsfailover.org.uk)

Posted on 01/02/201208/03/2023 by Phil

Has your DNS Server or Name Server ever gone down and clients are not able to resolve your website name to its IP address but you are able to go to the IP address directly and the site is there, well I might have an answer for you……

DNSFailOver.org.uk is a project I am working on using Linux and some other free Opensource software to build a global network of DNS Servers where you can replicate your DNS Server details for your website to and add my Name Servers to your Websites DNS Control Panel Options, this will then enable you to have Redundant Name servers, so if one goes down your Website provider will just give out the next Name Server in the list for clients to run queries on to find your website.
